Through the use of mime, dance, and spoken word, Shapiro
takes us on a journey. It is easy to become enamored of the talent
this man
displays.

Brian Shapiros Forgiveness reminded
us of why we like this performer. On a white sheet with extreme body
control and several props, the dancer played out an intense fight
between two sides of himself. Compelling.

I havent told anyone yet. I didnt
want to jinx it, but I fell in love this weekend. With CultureWorkss
And You Come From Where...?, written and performed by Brian Shapiro...solid
execution, vivid images, precision. Funny, too.

Brian Shapiro is a well-built man with
malleable features, euphonious voice and an ample supply of energy...Shapiro
did not merely dramatize stories...His company, CultureWorks, proclaims
its goal to 'promote social change, social inclusiveness and social
diversity from a proactive position, not a reactive one'...Shapiro
is a sharp man with well-developed performance skills.

In Slide Show the athletic Brian Shapiro started his
performance full of whimsy by sauntering onto the stage swinging his
hips to a saucy Latin beat. He then gave a sex education lesson using
a slide show. The funniest part of his act was a routine where he
danced with audience members, giving each partner an article of his
clothing.

In these days of multicultural diversity
and racial inclusion, we have become aware of the history of African
Americans, Mexican Americans, Italian and Irish Americans. But who
are white people and where do they come from? Brian Shapiro aptly
answered these questions and more in 'And You Come From Where...?'.
A must see.
